Purrsonalities

This project was a collaborative art experience in connection with the Lexington Humane Society. The goal was to create meaningful connections between art, technology, and animal advocacy, helping to drive adoptions and raise donations for the shelter.

Visitors at the gallery used their mobile device's camera to scan traditional portraits of adoptable cats. The web AR experience then displayed 3D virtual art, animations, and sounds overlaid on the physical art, allowing users to interact with the cat's unique "purrsonality."

As an AR Developer on the project, I built the complete interactive experiences for four of the featured portraits. Using Unity and the project's core image-tracking solution, I created 3D models and animations to bring the physical artwork to life. I worked directly with the lead developer and artists to optimize these assets, ensuring a stable, creative, and fun experience that ran smoothly on mobile browsers.
